Los Angeles Lakers Vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The highly favored Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to win this game just like they did but it was not suppose to be this difficult for the NBA champions. They escaped Oklahoma City with a 101-98 overtime victory and were even able to laugh about Lamar Odom’s air ball free throw late in the fourth quarter that could have ben critical had they lost. That’w what makes winning great, you can laugh about those things if you still win the basketball game. Even Lamar had to laugh about it after the game.
This game went down to the wire and with the score tied at 90-90, Kevin Durant’s heroic plan failed as he missed a three pointer (air ball) with the clock running down and so into overtime they went. Durant’s shot was questioned by many as he could have drove to the basket and tried to make contact. It was simply an immature play by a young player, Durant overall had a good game with 28 points for the Thunder.
The Lakers have to be happy that they escaped this game with a victory. Kobe Bryant had a fever but still played in the game and scored 31 points in the game. Andrew Bynum had 22 points and 10 rebounds as he will try to soften up the loss of Pau Gasol and try to do what he can while Pau is gone. Ron Artest also had a fine game with 20 points for the Lakers.
