L.A. Clippers win third game in a row as they win a close game against the Memphis Grizzlies
In a tight game, Chris Kaman (26 points, 9 rebounds) led the Clippers to their third straight victory after losing their first four games of the season.
The Clippers never led by more than one point in the game until Rasual Butler (17 points) sank a 3-pointer to give them a 105-101 lead with 3:14 remaining. The game went down to the wire when Memphis had one last shot to win it. Rudy Gay went for the three pointer to try and send the game into overtime but it was to long and the Grizzlies suffered another loss this season 113-110 and are now 1-6.
With Iverson not showing up to the game due to personal reasons, the offense had to flow without him. Rudy Gay, the fourth-year small forward, finished with 33 points, just two shy of his career high. He had 31 through the first three quarters, but shot justĀ 1-for-6 in the fourth. Zach Randolph had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Grizzlies.
